10 Keys to Success in Your Life

1/       You have to control your time.

When you control your time, you control your day.

Don’t let any else have control over your day.

Set your plan and execute it.

Unless it is “REALLY” an emergency, it can wait.

2/       You have to take control of your money.

Give, save and manage your cash.

            Give 10% away.

            Save 10%.

Live on 50% – spend that for what you must have.

The other 30% – use for the things you really want in life.

Then if anything happens, you can actually live on 50% less.

3/       You have to spend time with God every day.

            No compromise.

            No being too busy.

Take time every day to be thankful, to reflect and to enjoy all you have.

            Say a prayer.

Help someone who may never be able to return the favor.

Live God’s way – you will be amazed.

4/       You have to plan your day, schedule it and execute the plan.

            Simple process.

The night before – this what I am going to do tomorrow.

This is what my day looks like, scheduled.

Then all you have to do is follow the plan.

            End of discussion.

            Never said it was easy.

5/       You have to have goals.

Long-term – where are you planning on being in 25 years.

Yes, I said 25 years.  That way you always are looking to the future.

Even if you are 60 – look out 25 years and amaze yourself and the world.

            Mid-term -3-5 years.

            Short-term – 1 year.

Today – 3 things you will do today.

6/       You have to take action.

            Stop talking about it.

            Stop thinking about it.

What are 3 things you can do today that will take you to where you want to be.  Then do them.

7/       You have to take care of your health.

If you don’t, all the rest really do not matter.

You don’t have to have a 6 pack, but do you need to be healthy.

Exercise every day – yes you have time.  If you have a heart attack and you survive, you will find time to walk.  So find the time now.

You are no good to yourself or your family if you don’t do this.

            Stop thinking about it, today.

8/       You have to take time for your family.

Just listen to the old song by Harry Chapin.

            Cats in the Cradle.

            Need I say more?

9/       You have to have a mentor(s).

Someone who has done what you want to do.

            Someone to look up to.

They can be older or younger.

You can have more than one.

You can know them or just study their stuff.

But who do you want to be when you grow up.

As you grow, you may change who they are.

            But always have a mentor.

10/    You have to hang out with the right people.

You are the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with.

            Who are they?

            Are they challenging you?

Are they making you step up?

Are you being the best you can be because you hang out with them?

There you have it – ten keys to success.

Follow them and you will be amazed.

Coach Manny’s Inner Circle – helping people to build their top line.

I recently read about this concept in a great sales book called Fanatical Prospecting by Jeb Blount.  It’s a great book if you need help with prospecting.

These three things are the only ones you have control over in your business.

We often get upset about all kinds of things and, yet, when it comes down to balance, these are the only three things you can control.

And these are the 3 things you should be spending your time, effort, and energy on.

So today I want to briefly explore each one.

First one is action.

Action is what you do.

Most people today, and I hate to say it, are part of the 95% that only think about doing it.

Everybody today wants to think about doing it.

And days, weeks, months, years, and decades can go by while you do this.

I am working on a new book which is slated for release in the fall, on decision making.  One of the major teaching points in the book is a call to stop thinking so much and to start just making decisions.  You will be amazed at what this will do for your life.FrontCover

A decision means that you are going to do something.

To start doing something.

If people today, in business and in life, would just start taking action instead of spending their life thinking about stuff, they would end up accomplishing 10, 20, and even 100 times as much.

But people think about it instead of doing it.

Number two is your reaction.

Your reaction can put you in the slow lane.

It really doesn’t matter what they did.

It really doesn’t matter that they ticked me off.

I still have my job to do.

What can I do about it?

I see people come in, and whine.

Oh, my football team lost this week and I am so upset.

Be more Persistent, Consistent and Self-Disciplined.

Be more Persistent, Consistent and Self-Disciplined.

Who cares?

Your reaction should be, “Who cares? I don’t have a nickel in it.”

Let’s move on.

I’ve got to move forward with the important stuff that really matters.

The customer just quit.

Now what is your reaction going to be?

Are you going to get them back?

Or are you going to replace them with another customer.

Stop whining about it and do something.

The third area is your attitude.

And you all know that I speak all the time about attitude, attitude, attitude.

And yet people do not understand that attitude is the biggest driver you have.

It defines what you do, when you do it, how you do it, where you do it.

And what kind of success you have.

If you believe you are not going to get there, you won’t.

I believe Henry Ford said it first.

Yet if you believe you will make it, you will.

If you believe there are going to be 200 roadblocks, look up, they’ll be there.

Believe and move forward.

The worse that could happen is that you could be wrong.

Then believe in the next point and keep on going.

Can you understand these three points?

Do you understand what I am trying to get through to you?

These are the three things.

If you can get these three into your process you will be amazed at what you can do.

3 Keys You Need to Get Your Business Rolling

Is this going to be another year just like last year?

Are you going to let it be so?

Or is this going to be the year you set the world on fire?

The year your business/life/career takes off.

The year you leave the pack behind and take the lead.

The choice is yours.

You make the decision either way.

Take action and get moving.

Or do nothing.

The choice is yours.

We need to have no fear.

We need to have no hesitation.

We need to let nothing stand in our way.

So, today, I want to share 3 things that will help you make this happen in your life.

1/        Sow the seeds

You got to get out there.

And the way to get out there today is through social media.

No one cares what you think of social media – it works.

And that is all you need to know.

The question to ask yourself is, “When people see my firm and me, will they know me?”

Do I have a brand?

Forget all the crap about too much posting, too many emails, you’re doing too much social media, etc.

There is no such thing as too much.

Look at one of the kings of social media – Grant Cardone.

Over and over and over and over again.

Never can it be too much.

Regardless of whether it is social media or email.

If your stuff has juice, people will suck it up.

They will want more.

They will desire to have more.

You must keep feeding them.

But the stuff has to have juice.

Get out there.

Get out there on all the platforms.

Get into groups and participate.

Stop listening to people who failed.

Stop listening to people who have never tried.

Stop listening to people who have given up.

Listen to those who are doing it – at the top of their game.

Get out there and let people know who you are.

Tell your story.

Keep in mind, all people remember anyway is the stories you told them.

I learned that years ago.

In writing and speaking – only the stories get remembered.

So tell your stories.

2/        Walk the Walk

You set the example by your walk each and every day.

You set the example for those who know you and those who don’t.

Does everyone in your company project the message?

Click here to order a copy of one of my first books.

All People Who Work For Me Are Selling

When I see your vehicles – do they tell your story?

I don’t care if it is only a car – put a bumper sticker on it.

Get some magnets.

Tell your story.

When I see you or your team, does their clothing tell your story?

Do they have company shirts on?

Do they have company jackets?

Are you kidding me – the cost is almost zero for the payback.

You have got to keep the name out there.

When they see the name on social media – will they remember it?

If not, then they will forget.

Don’t be like the real estate agent who came home to see a competitor’s for sale sign in his neighbor’s yard.

Your employees and team.

Are they positive for you in all their behavior?

Do they talk you up?

Are they fired up for the company and you?

Are they sparked up?

Do they love the company?

Do they share that love with the rest of the world?

When I see your brand, does it say what you want it to?

Is the message getting out there?

Your people are you.

Are they pumped up?

Those that have been with you a long time – are they comfortable?

Get them uncomfortable or get them out.

Yes, I believe in loyalty, but it works both ways.

If they are not sparked up for you, then how loyal are they?

Stretch – raise the standard.

People do what is expected and no more.

Expect more – get more.

3/        Take action

Is this going to be the year of action for you?

Or is this just going to be another year?

The choice is yours.

You make the final move.

Until a decision is made – nothing happens.

So, decide this year that you will take massive action.

Make a decision and get the car moving down the road – now.

John Onberg, in this book, makes this simple statement:

“If you want to walk on water – you’ve got to get out of the boat.”

Are you waiting for someone else to make the move?

One of my favorite female comedians, Lily Tomlin, said:

“I always wondered why somebody didn’t do something about that.

Then I realized I was somebody.”

In 2017, you must take a new position.

You must become a person of action.

You have got to take action.

When you have a few minutes – get on social media and post something.

When you are out or in – take some pictures and put them up.

Get people to know who you are.

When you are out – say hello and start a conversation.

When someone has a need, ask them, “how can I help.”

Open your eyes, ask the question.

What can I do right here, right now that will help my business?

It is certainly not shut my mouth.

Do it.

Always remember, as I wrote the book:

“Failure Creates Success”

As we enter 2017, you have 3 choices.

1/        Do something.

2/        Do nothing.

3/        Do everything you can.

I chose number 3.

So, either get on the train and let’s get moving, or get out the way.

Ready to take another look at coaching?

Watch this video on super coaching.

If you are pinned down by enemy fire and do nothing, you will be killed.

Action creates movement. Movement creates change. Change creates results.

If you do something, anything, things will move forward, change, and you have a great chance for success.

If you do nothing, nothing will happen, nothing will change.

Action creates results.

How to create real success in all you do

How to create real success in all you do

Put very simply by John Onberg, “If you want to walk on water, you’ve got to get out of the boat.”

Are you still in the boat wishing and hoping? Get out of the boat –– now!

“Be aggressive in helping others.
Don’t wait to feel like it.
Don’t wait for some supernatural sign that God wants to use you.
  Just get started.”
––Quote from Joyce Meyer in her book, Approval Addiction.

Start now, get going, and stop talking about it. Stop thinking about it.

If you are wondering why things have not happened for you, perhaps it was because you did not move.

Here is a simple acrostic for the word action that might just give you the lift you need to put this plan into action.

A – Attitude

You have a choice. You can wake up and believe it is a great day, that you are going to do well, that you are ready to take on all that comes at you, that you are good. Or you can wake up and start the day whining, moaning and miserable. Simply put, you choose. If you want action, then you need the right attitude to start.

C – Commitment

I have always been told, if you are going to do something, then do it very well. That is commitment. Action requires that you do it and that you do it very well.

John Hancock has the largest signature on the Declaration of Independence, the first one you see. That is commitment.

How about you? Do you stand out in your commitment to what you are doing, or is it just another task? Hancock put his life on the line by signing so large so all could see very clearly that he was in.

Do people know you are in?

Does your family?

Does your team? DO YOU?

How big is your signature?

Sign your life as Hancock signed the Declaration of Independence.

T – Tenacity

Hold fast to what you are doing.  Perseverance and persistence. Just keep on going.  Remember that the great Walt Disney was rejected by 301 banks before he got his financing.  And you are complaining because one bank turned you down?  Push harder. Keep your eye on the target.  Do not give up, ever.

I – Integrity

The lost art of living and telling the truth.
There are absolutes, no matter what the world is trying to teach you today.
Right is right and wrong is wrong.  It is that simple and that straight.
The hard thing about it is you cannot teach it.  You either have integrity or you don’t.
How are you doing?
  Walk the walk.

O – Ownership

“They” must have done something to stop it. “They” must have put that there.
“They” must have…

Forget it, there is no “they.”
At least I have never been able to find them.

You take responsibility and ownership to achieve action and get moving forward.
I hear too much about “they,” yet I have never yet met them. Have you?

Take ownership of all you do.

N – No

You need to know when to say “No” and when to say “Yes.”
We get into so much trouble and inaction because we don’t say “no” to the things that keep us from doing the things we need to be doing.

Say “no” as soon as you know it is “no.”
  Do not keep people hanging.
They may be disappointed but better now than later.

If you learn to say no to the things you should not do, then you can say yes and take action on the things you should be doing.

And that is it, plain and simple.  Very straightforward.
  You can do it.
If you do it, the action will happen.

Action creates results.

Are you moving forward or still thinking about it.

This is a piece from the action section of my book, “Failure Creates Success.”

How are you going to make sure the coming year is your best ever year so far?

What are you going to do differently?

Do you understand that a plan in your head is just that – a plan in your head?

If you don’t write it down, the chances of it ever happening are zero.

I have dealt with too many people with great plans in their head, but they missed out on doing very much.

Make sure that this coming year – you go for gold and stop settling for silver.

Too many people settle for silver and really never get past bronze.

How do you build that roadmap for next year?

Let’s take a look at one example of how you start to make it happen for you.

You start with goals:

Let’s define one:

To take my sales to over x dollars in the next 12 months.

Now, goals are great.

They are the way we have to start.

They are necessary.

But, they are just the starting point.

You can think of them as the starting line in the race.

But if you don’t run, and if you don’t run faster than everyone else, you will never win the race.

You do want to win the race – don’t you?

So what is next?

Next you have to define the tasks you need to do in order to accomplish that goal.

What do you have to do to win the race?

Here are some examples to go with this goal as a starting point.

1/        Attend 10 networking events a month.

2/        Send out one email to my list every week.

3/        Add 200 names a month to my email list.

4/        Have 3 one on one meetings every week.

5/        Post on social media twice a day.

6/        Send out 20 post cards a week to prospects.

7/        Make 4 hours a week of cold calls.

Now you can see it starting to come together.

You have a goal, which is getting your sales to a certain number.

You have the measureable tasks that you need to define to get you there.

What is next?

Making it happen.

Also, you need to define another 2-4 goals for the next 12 months, the same way.

You should have 3-5 business goals and 1-2 personal goals every year.

Once you have done this; set it in stone and then make it happen.

Accept nothing less.

Expect nothing less.

There is one final, tiny piece that you will need.  You need to get yourself an accountability partner who will keep you on track.  No, you can’t do it yourself, no matter how good you are.

Much success to you over the next year.

“Less than 30 years before Henry Ford became the richest man in the world, a man was working in the same shop with Henry Ford, doing practically the same work. It was said that this man that worked with Mr. Ford was really a more competent workman in that particular sort of work than Ford. Thirty years later, that man was still engaged in the same sort of work for wages of less than $100 a week, while Mr. Ford went on to be the world’s richest man.” Story from Napoleon Hill

As you work today please think about this – where will you and your co-workers be 30 years from now?

Still doing the same thing?

Or will one of you be the richest people in the world.
Will one of you have taken his/her dream and taken some action to make it a reality.

Or will you all still be there – thinking about it?

There are 3 types of people in the work force and only you can decide which of these your will be.

Your choice will determine what happens in your life and the life of your family.

Our new methodology, “Failure Creates Success,” will actually take 10 years off your growth plan and propel you into great success if you follow it. But even with a great methodology, you still have to be the one to make it happen.

A methodology is just a tool, plain and simple. Just like a hammer cannot build a house, neither can a methodology make you successful. It is a tool.

So today I want you to ask yourself the question,

“To which of the following groups do I belong.”

Be honest and really think about it.

Because if you are not where you want to be, then make a decision, take some action and move on forward.

Start spending your life doing what you love to do.

1) Those that make it happen.
This is where Henry Ford was, it is where Bill Gates is and where Michael Dell is.
This is where you want to be.
Get out there and start making it happen.

2) Those that watch what happens.
This is the group that would like to try and do something.
But they are afraid.
Or they tried it once, failed and will never try it again.
Or they simply cannot make a decision and so just stay where they are.

3. Those that wonder what happened
The man that worked with Mr. Ford was in this group.
A great majority are in this group.
They live life saying stuff like, “Wow, he sure is lucky”. Or “she gets all the breaks,”

Forget it
Change today to be part of the group that makes it happen.
Change today and start by taking some action
Change today by making decisions. Then watch what happens.

You make it happen.
Start today.
